What Have We Been Up To...

What have we been up to? Hmmm...I've kinda been under the weather so we pretty much stayed home this weekend and all this week. Even if I was feeling well enough to go out I wouldn't have had a chance. My shop has been doing really well and keeping me extremely busy. I've had a lot of free exposure from Etsy. I've been on the front page multiple times. There was a faux food article with my stuff in it. Plus, I've been in a number of treasuries. It's been really nice and I've had a lot of business because of it.

I've also been getting ready for another 12 days of Christmas crafts starting December 1st! I know I'm so crazy, but I like challenge! I'm trying to get most of it done before December begins then all I have to do is post - I'll let you know how that turns out! : )
Yesterday, Sydney and I made a Thanksgiving Turkey. We painted her hands for the feathers and used some pom-poms I had around the house for the body. She kept saying we were making an ostrich! I guess it's okay, I really don't want to her start crying when we bring out our Thanksgiving turkey for dinner! : )

Dixie wanted to join us for crafts. Since there was no carpet to lay on, she decided to sleep on the changing table pad. Geesh! What a dog!

Flower Barrette Giveaway!

Yea! Today's the day! I have a bunch of these barrettes. All the pink ones sold out at the craft fair - go figure. So I have green, blue, purple, and peach colored barrettes. If you would like one please leave me a comment with an email or a way to get ahold of you. I don't know if I'll be able to honor every one's request but I'll try. I have about 10 so it's first come, first serve.

In other's news - it the big 2-9 for me today!

I did buy a birthday present for myself. : ) Remember these cupcake stands? I bought some and they came yesterday! They are just the cutest little thing. I'm hoping to double the birthday cake recipe so I have some cupcakes to put on them. Mmm...I can't wait!

Veteran's Day

Matt had yesterday off so we went to the zoo. No surprise there - we always go to the zoo!

Here's the newest addition to the zoo - a 5 week old hippo sleeping along the fence line.

Syd looking at the donkey in the petting zoo area. Basically, I just like the pic. : )

This was my promised post of family. Unfortunately, I didn't get good picture of Matt at the zoo. Maybe I'll have him model the flower barrettes for the giveaway tomorrow! Haha, wouldn't that be a sight to see!

Craft Fair

Alright, I know everybody's been losing sleep wondering how I did at my first craft fair. Well, wait no more! : )
I did just fine! Matt's parents were here for the weekend so Matt's mom helped me out at the fair. It was definitely nice to have an extra person to help out and talk to for the day.
Here's my "farmer's market" pictures. I guess it worked out with the apple tree in the back.

Here's my second table. It had the hair clips and desserts.

The hair clips were a big hit. I've got some left so I'll be giving them away later this week on the blog - so check back!
Overall, it was a lot of fun. I do better at my online shop so I think I'm going to be sticking to that. Lately, that's even been a lot to keep up with! So with a whole crafting post, I'll leave you with a new food per customer's request:

Next post, I promise I'll include the husband and daughter since it is a family blog! : )

Happy Pictures

Let's look at some cheery pictures since I'm kinda bummed today.
Here is Sydney's room. The fabric is Heather Bailey's and I love it. It has a combo of yellow, blue, red, and teal - so that's what her room is. I made 4 panels with the fabric and lined the bottom with a ruffle of light blue. There are 2 panels over her windows and 2 panels over her closet. The closet doors are removed so she can easily get in and out to play.
Matt painted her toddler bed red. I still need to make her a duvet cover for her little bed...

Hanging the in corner above her bed is this little gem. I got the idea from here and here. They are super cute, aren't they?!
It's a great way to use of scraps of this and that.

These next 2 pictures I'm going to use at the craft fair showing how to use the hair clips I've made.

This is my favorite photo - look at her bright blue eyes!

Halloween Weekend Update

We had a good weekend with my parents. Syd loved the extra attention and cried when they left. Here is a picture from last Wednesday. There was a toddler Halloween party on base.
As promised, a picture of our dining room. I like dressing up the table. The pumpkins about to hit the trash to make room for Turkey Day decorations! I know it's pretty boring to see the dining room - next will be Syd's room. It's much cuter!

More pumpkin pie...it's been a big seller. Still getting ready for the craft fair this weekend. I can't wait for it to be over and I haven't even done it yet! : ) I'm taking a sewing vacation after it's over!

Hope everyone had a good weekend. I've loved seeing everyone's costumes on their own blogs! They are all very fun!

Happy Halloween - Part 2

Here's the real costume of the day. It's from McCall pattern M4887. It's suppose to be a fairy but I didn't want to do the wings so Syd calls it a ballerina outfit. I'm happy with that.

And the best part of the day...my parents came for a visit!
Grandpa took her around trick-or-treating. So cute. Syd picked up the "treating" real quick! Good thing this candy-stuff only comes once a year.

Happy Halloween!

Has anyone seen Martha or Dixie? : )

You would think after having a kid they wouldn't be subjected to this stuff anymore! haha.

Weekend Update

We had a good and productive weekend. Most importantly - we (early) voted!

It was my favorite part of the weekend. I really enjoy voting and voting in a swing state, I feel like my vote really counts. Unlike living in Texas, when you know which way your state swings. Please go out and vote - especially if you are voting for the same man I did! : )

Also, this weekend I did a lot of crafts and house projects. I am going to do my 1st craft fair in 2 weeks! That's mean I've been real busy trying to build up my stash of food. It's all coming together. I can't wait to actually go to the fair, my booth is hopefully going to look like a farmer's market. With all my extra felt, I've been making some hair clips to sell:

Now, I keep feeling guilty that I said I would show you our house but haven't yet. So within the next week or two, I'll be slowly showing you different rooms. Here's a quick pic of my craft room. In my craft room, I have 2 desks - a work table and a desk with my sewing machines. It's a wonderful thing! Here is the work table. I thought about cleaning it off for you and the picture, but who am I fooling? It's never clean and cleared off so why I should I portray it that way? On the wall, is an old printer's drawer for my stamps, a tape deck (yep!) holder for stamp pads, and another antique drawer for other stuff.

It's been getting cooler here, especially at night. We bought Sydney some footed pjs. Kids look so cute in footed pjs, don't they?! Here's her "Huh, mom?" look.

Here's what we've been up to...

Christmas Cookies

Since some of my customers are already buying for Christmas, I thought I better put these out!

Alright, believe it or not, I actually have more new food that I haven't posted! Maybe another day... I'm crazy I know. Hope you enjoyed all the new food!

Chocolate Cake

Most of my new foods aren't that healthy, huh? Good thing they are just pretend! : )

Penne Pasta & Sydney Playing

A new pasta! I bought some real ones for a recipe and thought they would be easy enough to make.
As I have stated before, we play outside a lot. Sydney loves to ride her Diego bike. And once the bike comes out, she always asks for the helmet. So funny. The helmet is just a tad bit too big but it's a helmet nonetheless.

Do you remember the Texas license plate on the car? Here's her Florida one for the bike!
Here is Sydney just playing outside. I love the picture because of the natural shadowing.

Just a couple more foods left! See you tomorrow.

Strawberry Shortcake!

One of my favorite desserts - with a dollop of whipped cream of course!

Columbus Day Weekend and Felt Food

We had a good weekend. We just hung out at the house and ran errands. Played some basketball - we have a hoop in our front yard. At our house we have some talents, however basketball is not one of them! We had our friends over for dinner and made these caramel apples. Perfect for fall and they aren't cupcakes either! : )
Martha loves to be outside. She ran to the "park" and went all the way to the top and sat in the last part of sunlight for the day.

This Saturday was so productive for me. I created 4 new felt foods - in one day! Unbelievable. I'll share a new one with you each day of the week. This one I'm showing is my favorite. It's a slice of red velvet cake. The frosting makes it looks a piece of wedding cake.
