A Little Randomness

Alright, here is a some random pictures of what we have been up to the past couple days. I've been wanting to make sugar cookies for the longest time now. I finally did it. I found some new cookie cutters at our fun little kitchen store in town, that sealed the deal for me.
Joanie, Jean's mom, makes this really great icing that was her grandmother's recipe. It's kind of like making candy so it's tricky. It took me 3 attempts to finally get it right, and then it still wasn't perfect! Ugh. I was so frustrated. If I'm going to bake, it has to be perfect! Anything less is thrown out. It's just a quirk! : ) But after 3 frostings and bedtime approaching, I relented and just used the last batch. These 3 shapes were my newest cutter shapes: a birdhouse, a squirrel, and a strawberry.

Another "Poor Dixie" picture. Yes, she is sitting on her!
Again, Dixie could care less.
Look how long Sydney's pigtails are getting.

Remember this picture from July 20, 2007! What a difference!

Okay, this one is for Jenn. I was talking to Jenn the other night and she informed me that she notices I put paper down under anything Sydney is doing. I thought it was ironic since just that afternoon I made a permanent play/craft mat for the table! Ha! Here's what is looks like. It's made from oilcloth and I sewed a dark brown bias/border around it. There is no more cutting up paper bags or newspapers, and if there's a mess it just wipes right up. Perfect!

Thanks for following along the rabbit trail of my brain! : )

ok, a couple things: Love the new profile pic! Glad you figured it out, sry I want much help!
The cookies look yummy, wish i could try one. (And there is nothing wrong with perfection)
And, I was wondering about the while newspaper things too. I was laying in bed thinking about it the other night actually..lol. I think bc I was had my BFF and sister's little ones on the way on my mind and had a million things that I cant wait to do with them and one of them was crafts... Then I started thinking of how you do all kinds of things with Syd... then I was thinking of how you use newspaper all the time and was wondering when you were going to get a plastic table clothe to just throw down - well, yours is a much better idea...
Ok, this is way long and you thought yours was a rabbit trail! HA~!

I think dogs quickly learn that the babies of the house are going to win out in the end, so they just give in and put up with everything.

With that in mind, however, I'm having to constantly watch Noah around Cowboy. He's so mean to him! (Noah mean to Cowboy, not the other way around).

He will smack him with a toy or push him around by his butt, or just start kicking him. I'm afraid he's going to get bitten. Crazy kid.

His newest thing is to grab Alex's tail and wag it for her. At least she's still crazy in love with her baby.

Cute pigtails, btw. I wish I had little hair to style!

Baking - how I miss it! Can't wait for my official taste tester to return so I can get to work in the kitchen!

I can't believe how much Sydney's hair has grown since we saw you in January! So there's hope for our little one! :-)

Awe... poor dixie... Those pig tails are so cute! Turns out by age 7 there's NO WAY she's letting you do her hair. "Gees mom, I don't want to look silly." ??? WHAT??? Syd is adorable.
