Crafts!

Holy Smokes I've been busy with crafts. These are just a few of the things I've been up to and this doesn't include the continuous sewing of felt food. I just received another big order for the Chicago Children's Museum which I have been working on too. Here are some tags for the Etsy store.
I needed some new oven mitts...so what would any normal person do? Make their own! : ) haha.

Again, Dixie needed a new leash...so why spend $10 when I can make one for $3!

Ooh, this is one of my favorites. I found this brass butterfly napkin holder at the thrift store for a dollar. Matt did the make-over for me by spray painting it pink. It's a great addition to my craft room and makes me quite happy when I look at it.

Joanie, Jean's mom, painted this piggy bank for Sydney's 2nd birthday. It is so cute and Sydney loves it too. We put the coins in and take them out - over and over again!

In Sydney news, it's been quite exciting. She has started praying for us at dinner. It goes something like this:

"Dear God, thank you for Sydney, mommy, and daddy. In Jesus name. Amen."

Very cute and to the point. I love it. Also, Jen bought some Leapfrog DVDs (here and here) for her birthday. She has been watching them and now knows what every letter says. For example, she'll say "What does M say?" then replies "Mmm" and so forth. She'll be reading before we know it - Whew, that's scary! Have a good day everyone.

Totally unrelated to your post, but here goes anyway. I don't know if you've ever used Margarita Bloom, but her products are super cute and pretty fabulous, too. I saw this soap and thought of you (sorry for the second cupcake association ;)

I'm glad she's loving the DVDs. Those songs get stuck in your head like nobody's business. Where do you buy that black nylon stuff for Dixie's leash? And, did you make Syd mini oven mitts yet? Congrats on your big museum order! ~jen~

That's so funny about the Margarita Bloom Cupcake - I just saw one like that yesterday on Etsy. You like their stuff, I believe I've heard of them before.

The nylon leash came from Hobby Lobby but I'm sure you can find it at Walmart or Joanns/Hancocks.

I thought about making Sydney a mini pair but I'm afraid she might actually try to use them in the real kitchen and burn herself. She's turned into a very big "helper" in the kitchen these days.

I need oven mitts too but I haven't a clue how to make them. We have friends near Hurlburt and my mom's a preschool teacher there. When will you be there? The public schools there just started offering free preschools.

That's great news about your museum order - I wish we lived closer to Chicago so we could check out the exhibit! Did you put some kind of special material in your oven mitts to protect your hands?

I ordered this cupcake bow off Brandi Velotta's website. I think she came to Patterson Park after you left though.
