So much has been going on around here. I've been working hard to finish all the food for the Children's Museum. Thankfully, I shipped it out last week. We've also been hanging out with friends and enjoying the nice morning & evening weather. There has been too much to ramble on about so I'll share some pictures of my model and 2nd quilt (and last quilt for a long time). This one I did the binding by hand. It didn't take me as long as I thought it would - just one morning. I think I prefer the hand binding over the machine too.

A couple of weeks ago the blackberries (or something like blackberries) were in season. Matt and Sydney went out to the preserve behind our house and picked a big bucket full. As requested, I made a cobbler from them. Hopefully in a few weeks I will be making a blueberry cobbler from our backyard blueberry trees.

Seriously good looking cobbler. I wish I had fresh berries for the picking!
It all looks fantastic! Why is this your last quilt for a long time?
LOVE the quilt. wish I could make one for Eddie's new room! The cobbler looks fantastic too. Lucky you for having access to all the yummy berries. ENJOY!
LOVE that quilt!! the fabric is precious....too bad it's your last for a while...it's exactly what i've been wanting for madison's big girl twin bed!! :) you are so talented!
It's my last quilt for awhile because I guess I'm just not really a quilter. I rather sew smaller stuff. And they get to be very expensive. I did use pretty much all designer fabric so that doesn't help but geesh! : ) I did enjoy the 2 I have made though. I'm sure I will make some more - someday. : )
Thanks for all the nice comments.
Matt & I used to pick those berries behind our house growing up and at the lake place. LOVE those berries!!! Your quilt & model are beautiful. They are both so cheerful.
That quilt is awesome! I want a grown up one!
OK, about the quilt...I've only ever made one quilt about 7-8 years ago. I am about to start again, and just ordered myself a walking foot for my machine. Your quilt is beautiful; I love your fabrics! I'm quite impressed that you did the binding by hand, and totally jealous that it looks like you've mastered the "meandering stitch"? I am a novice, so I'm starting with a rag quilt. We'll see how it goes...
